The island has done a lot of bloody strange things, but Jack had not expected snow. Nor is he especially fond of it, and he's been spending most of his time holed up below decks on the Black Pearl sulking--er, organising. Taking care of things aboard the ship. Never mind it couldn't go anywhere--they'd actually tried, when young William had woken up to discover his wife missing, and was ready to set sail to the ends of the earth, hell or high tide, to go find her--off they'd gone, done a circle of the island, as it turned out, and found themselves back where they started. Compass or no. It was frustrating, is what it was.
The ship had been a bit quiet after that, once it sunk in that the very idea of trying to sail anywhere was all in vain anyway. Jack feels trapped. He hates feeling trapped, and a ship is freedom and the wind on your face, and what difference is it being stranded on an island with his ship than without it? (Well, there is an answer to that, but he's sulking, so he leaves it be.)
He is, however, Captain Jack Sparrow, a fact that has managed to get him out of quite a few unfortunate situations in the past, and he still hopes that one day soon, his luck will change with the wind. And even if it isn't this wind, even if it takes months longer, it's time enough to train up a crew, keep the ship in order, and wait for the weather to change.
Speaking of his crew, though he thinks they're all off playing in the blasted snow (which is, if nothing else, a good opportunity for coats, and Jack likes his coat when it's not getting in the way), he's put up a message that they're to meet at the ship, and he supposes this means he might have to make a speech.
[Gathering for the Pearl's crew, but also anyone who happens to be in the area and desperately wants to see the ship, or who's attached to crew, or whatever. I'm trying to get all threads close to wrapped today before I go home, so do tag each other as well as Jack. Knock yourselves out. :)]
