After David's arrival, Jill's first instinct was to throw herself into work, which was possible, but not exactly easy on the island. Not like it would have been back home, anyway and so for the day she decided to just give up. For the first time in years she didn't have any deadlines dangling over her head, no one was waiting on her research, no one was leaning over her shoulder expectantly as they waited for her to finish sequencing a virus and, most importantly, no one was dying. Since no one was dying, Jill figured she was entitled to the day off and so she put on the green and white tie-dyed bathing suit that she'd found, a pair of her shorts and she headed down to the beach with a book and a towel.
The book she'd been trying to read for weeks now, but she hadn't gotten anywhere, mostly because she kept putting it down in favour of something related to virology, but this time she was determined to read it. At the very least, she thought she could get through one or two chapters before she started to look over the information she'd collected so far on the strange island behavior, although she was trying to convince herself that she'd only slid the papers into the book to use as a bookmark. Really, she had absolutely no intention of working.
Some clouds were scattered across the sky and it looked like there was potential for rain, but Jill was perfectly happy -- really, not at all bored -- to sit on the beach on her towel, her hair pulled back in a pony tail and her book on her lap. The pencil pushed through her hair was just there to help hold it up and she was resolutely not reaching around to pull it out of her hair to make notes on her papers.
She was going to read her book and she was going to relax, even if she died of boredom.
[ooc: As always, open to all. Old friends would be great and new people are welcomed. Especially if they've been on the island for awhile, because she may want to ask them questions about their time spent here. Distraction would be loved.]
