Archie scowled slightly when he found himself wandering in the direction of the boulder he was beginning to develop a great fondness for. No more thinking, he sternly informed himself.
He walked instead in the direction of the water. He wasn't exactly unhappy but he was very, very something that would require thought.
He eyed the sand and surf before removing his shoes and stockings so he could stand in the shallows. It was cold but refreshing. Then he picked up some small rocks and began trying to skip them over the waves. Archie debated singing but instead only hummed "Spanish Ladies." He tried not to think of Captain Sawyer. After all, it wasn't as if the insane bastard had owned the song.
Briefly the young lieutenant watched a blue-black pebble skip along until it disappeared. Sea shanties were for singing at sea or at least when severely intoxicated.

Now that he thought about it, being heavily inebriated would have been a pleasant change.
