Friday Dinner
Ever since the...incident with Chris a few days before, Saffron had been a little unsettled, and had wanted to do something that came easily to her, something she could control. Cooking provided the perfect opportunity, and so Bill found himself with help making dinner that day, something he didn't mind at all. They worked together well, maneouvering round each other in the kitchen as they prepared various parts of the meal, chatting about one thing or another as they worked, with a generous helping of flirtation thrown in.
Bill had made fried calamari, with a homemade marinara sauce for dipping. He'd made enough of the marinara to also put over a large batch of spaghetti, which Saffron made the meatballs for out of boar. To go with, they made a fruit salad, sauteed vegetables, and banana nut muffins. Everything was ready to be served, and Bill poured himself a coffee and Saffron a green tea as she took the final item out of the oven: a nice, hot batch of apple tarts.
