William had decided to spend at least part of each day in or around the clinic area, on the basis that most events of note would pass through it, since the IPD offices were in the same section. He wouldn't get in the way of anybody in need of medical attention or security, of course, but he'd at least be there to see it happen and hopefully question people about it once the crisis had abated somewhat.
On entering the clinic, however, it was immediately apparent that there'd already been an incident. Maybe more than one. And he'd missed it. This simply would not do. He looked around for someone to talk to. No, better make that 'someone to listen to,' since all he'd be doing was asking questions, most like.
