This was beyond humiliating.

As far as he was concerned, no respectable person should've been going out in weather like this. If there wasn't a quick spell to clear it up, he was just fine staying inside, thank you very much. He was well on his way to letting himself starve just to avoid getting his shoes muddy. Why had he chosen to live out in the middle of bloody nowhere? And why, oh why, had he brought someone along who seemed so damned gleeful about the whole mess? This tiny, bug-eyed blond wisp of a girl who somehow took nearly everything in stride. It was infuriating, and it was that frustration that send him out into the rain that morning, just to prove to himself and to her that he didn't always have to be such a stick in the mud.

The problem was the umbrella. He'd found three of them, exactly the same, in the house, along with Wellington boots and rain ponchos of varying degrees of hideousness. He'd made it all the way to the path without the googly-eyed monstrosity, sloshing through mud and wiping rain from his face, before surrendering, trudging back home to grab one of them from just inside the door.

Now, there was a drowned ferret of a young man, carrying a green froggy umbrella, heading toward the compound for breakfast and cursing his most horrid of situations. It almost made him long for the days of Unspeakable Curses and being at the mercy of an evil lunatic. It almost made him curse the day he'd ever met that batty-brained Luna Lovegood.

It was awfully depressing how far from the truth that really was.

[[Timed to early Saturday morning, but I'm going ahead and putting it up now. He's making the rather long trek from the Glassworks to the Compound, so there are plenty of places to come across him. Open to all.]]
