Sterling's Gold.

Pete almost doesn't believe it when he sees the book on the Rec Room shelf. Still, when he sees the title followed by the words 'by Roger Sterling' on the spine, he pulls it out, staring, slightly dumbfounded, at the dust jacket (the ink sketch of the author on the back isn't bad) until he reaches a chair, then proceeding to sit down and open the book up.

He doesn't even get as far as the first chapter; the inside of the dust jacket stops him cold.Roger Sterling Jr. is a founding partner of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. He has a daughter, Margaret, and lives in New York City with his wife Jane. He is already hard at work on his next volume of advertising wisdom.
There are several things wrong with this.

First of all: Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. He doesn't know a Pryce, and the last time that he checked, Draper's name wasn't on the side of the building. This alone is enough to induce a slight panic in him.

Frankly, that point is first and last. Quickly, he checks the publication date of the book, but even knowing that it's from his future does nothing to quell his panic. How long has he been here? Has he been completely erased from the picture back home?

His expression, formerly nothing if not amused, turns drawn and more than a little bit scared, although this comes off more as irritation.

( ooc; I'll try to keep spoilers out of the threads, if you'd like to tag him and haven't seen much of Mad Men. He's not particularly happy but it's not a bad time to meet him! Excerpt from the actual AMC-released Sterling's Gold. ST/LT welcome as always! )
