A return to the world.
It had been a short hiatus from everything social, but it had, indeed, been a hiatus. For about a week, the only person she'd seen with any regularity was Connor, but even that hardly counted. She had been a bit distant from him because there really was no avoiding him, with them living together and all. She didn't mind having him around, but every now and then she needed to brood (a second death will do that to you... or was she on her third?) and brooding was hard with another person about. It was nice, though, to have someone who always seemed to know what she needed, and the bonus was that he wasn't Spike.
She had climbed a tree by the beach, again, enjoying the ariel view of the island. She sat exactly as she had, the leg with her dagger strapped to the thigh dangling into the sightline of any passerby, tight jeans clinging in all the right places. Maybe the brooding wasn't entirely over, but this was a transition. At least she wanted company.

Summary of d00m: Buffy and Dustin talk about being fighters and then decide to train together, as they can learn a lot from each other. Buffy wins the sparring match and they talk about California. Then, Josh Lyman sees a dangling leg and climbs up the tree to meet the body. There is flirting and then bonding, which ends in much toobiness. They make out for a good long while and then talk about how being fuckbuddies would just be fabulous and then head to the Compound to get warm. Warmth ensues. Buffy and Bridget proceed to have another meeting of the blondes. Then, Buffy and River talk about Jayne and how he's really stupid for not wanting her. Han comes along in ugly shorts. Sunbathing and making out ensues and even some talk of the past, which leads to a bit more liplock before the inevitable "where is this going" conversation. They decide to take it day-to-day and it ends well. Six and Buffy size each other up. Alice climbs into Buffy's tree and they talk about the parallells of their lives, decide they like each other, and agree to meet up and Buffy's training spot and spar/learn from one another. There is warrior!happiness. Veronica stops by, feels a little jealousy when she learns that Buffy is Logan's briefly mentioned hottie and then they talk about their ex's kids, which isn't awkward at all, for some reason. Veronica requests Buffy not sleep with Logan, and they become friends. Finally, Jayne stops by and things go back to the really strangely fucked up way they used to be: flirting through violence.
