A week had come and gone since Veronica had first seen Logan walk into the rec room. It had been, up to a point, a less than pleasant week - a confusing week, really, and a painful one, and definitely one she never wanted to repeat.
But it had still been a week, and she wasn't one to wallow. Besides, if nothing else, she had friends here who cared about her, who threatened to beat up anyone who bothered her, who cut her hair with a minimum of questions, who promised to recite the names of every member of Congress in alphabetical order. There had been strawberry pie making and talks on the beach and really? It hadn't been that bad at all, as long as she ignored the parts that bothered her. Some part of her was less than disappointed by his appearance anyway.
So she was doing just that. It was late and quiet out, but the waves crashing on the shore made her smile. They had all the time in the world to fix this or to learn better how to hide from each other. For now, she was taking what peace she could find.
