Now with a small entourage of people around him, Jon let River and the Corporal direct him. Ghost was restless at his side, and he could hear Grey Wind moving back and forth behind him. When they reached the part where their paths would split, he stopped again and assessed who was there, and in a moment made his decision.
"Robb, please go with Corporal Maladicta and Miss Mars to where de Worde was taken. The rest of us will go to where Miss Tam found Jim's bag, and see what we can find. We should reconvene before following any trails, to discern whether or not they follow the same path." Or if, gods forbid, they were taken in separate directions... Jon had no intention of letting Pam, Veronica or River go tracking with them; if they met with something dangerous, they had no weapons and therefore might be hurt or captured themselves.
He met Robb's eyes and gave his brother a bracing nod, and the group split up.
