I heard a distant early warning - but I chose to ignore it -

It had been a week since June 13th, and Veronica Mars wasn't in the habit of wallowing. Sure, she might get stuck on an issue, but that wasn't wallowing. It was persistence. But the fact remained that, a week ago, she should have graduated. And, yeah, maybe she had finally found a way to be forever free of Neptune High, but she would have preferred if that method had included a graduation and a full ride to Stanford, and maybe a little less sand. And it didn't help that she couldn't find Logan.

Which, okay, was maybe not so much his fault, since it wasn't like she was looking to spend time with him right now. But she wasn't avoiding him either. Things were complicated. Of course, that was usually the summary of her life. But it wasn't like she couldn't have found him if she had wanted to. First of all, she was a detective and, in the grand tradition of detectives the world over, knew how to find things and people. Second, she knew where he lived, and that was no idle threat. Seriously, she knew where the hut was. And it still didn't have a roof.

Whatever. The weather was decent, even if there had been a little rain here and there, and the beach was still safe ground, even if the rec room had gotten to be just a little bit creepy with that TV guy there all the time. Hands in pockets, she wandered the shore, wishing Backup were there to join her on her walk.

[Anyone's welcome to tag in, but be forewarned that I want all threads either wrapped or FTB'd by tomorrow evening, since I have to leave then. ♥]
