Top Vocalists - #9

Time for another edition of Leigh's Top Vocalists (In No Particular Order!)!

Who is today's lucky man?

Danny Elfman - Oingo Boingo, various movies

Nightmare Before Christmas came out when I was 3.  I wanted to marry Jack Skellington from the day I saw it until I was 5.  Part of that was because I liked the way he sang.  Upon obtaining the soundtrack when I was older, I realized I really, really liked the way he sang. Imagine my delight when I found out that this singer, Danny Elfman,  was in a band in the 80's, and I could actually get albums upon albums of his glorious voice.  Oh my, yes, it was exciting.

So I shamelessly drool over his voice.  As a side note, all of the music he composes is amazing in its own right as well.  It's so unique and out there and exciting.  And I don't even like music without words.  Yet I listen to his.  So, there you have it.

Top 3 Tracks

1. What's This? from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
This is the song that captured me as a child, and to this day I love it so much, I can't explain it.  I also get to plug one of my top 10 scenes from any movie ever, bonus!  Christmas Town is gorgeous and magical and everything I adore.  I could go on for days about this movie and how much I love it and Tim Burton and Danny Elfman.  But this is about the latter so, yes.  Enjoy his singing~

2. Just Another Day
This was the first Oingo Boingo song I ever heard.  There's nothing to dislike about it.  And, unf, his voice is just so attractive to me.

3. No One Lives Forever
It embodies the craziness that is Oingo Boingo, with all the mania anyone could ask for.
