A few years ago was the last time I was asked specifically what was wrong with the music industry, what made it so comical to days past. I didn't know how to answer it correctly. This makes me think about how there might be a time in the future when we have no new music, and everything is just based around sampling the catchiest hooks/verses/choruses together. They won't flow smoothly together, though, but no one will notice because god damn it will be the most catchy series of synthesized nonsense they have ever heard. And then I think, maybe music will become jingles, nothing more than commercials for corporations, a three and a half minute sales pitch for McDonalds, perhaps. And then I think that I have been reading too many stories about dystopias lately.
