Happiness. What's the meaning of happiness? Some people say it's a fish you can never catch. Some people say it's a pill you can't swallow. Denis Leary once said:

happiness is what you make of it, it just sits there until you tell it so. if you wake up and say: today im happy. then you are. if you decided: this isnt happiness, im not happy. then you arent. id say emotions are some of the easiest to produce and the easist to contort. they do as you say and follow to a T. only you decide your happiness, and others can never make you happy, only you yourself controls your feelings.

so be happy. or not. :)

I've been involved too much on feelings and pitiful crushes that shouldn't happen that make me worse for wear to pinpoint exactly where my happiness has been. it's a sad case.

self-pity is controlable. i used to think it isn't, but it is. focusing on the positive things, seeking beauty in life and small things like those you mention, pouring out negativity with creating, that's what's helped me "wallow" less. of course it isn't easy, especially when depression hits in really hard, but it can be done.

and who says other people are happy? hardly anyone shows their true face, we tend to hide our feelings/anxiety/etc., except in front of our close friends.

i think happiness in the long run comes when we're ready for it and ready to embrace it.
