I loved the first part of it, but after a couple of minutes the music became disjointed and off-kilter to my ears. Still, thanks for pointing it out!

At first, it bothered me too, till I realized what the song is about. Think of it as that being the point where the drugs start to really kick in.
That's one of the things that I am trying to work on as an arranger. Let the music paint part of the picture.

One of the things I noticed right off is that the piano is either slower or faster than the rest of the band. That disjointedness also help with the imagery in my mind.

Okay, I can get behind that. I should listen to it again when I'm in a laid back and mellow mood, the effect will penetrate my head better if I do that.
