It was a bright Friday. The sun dappled Carlisle in a mix of light and shade, the azure sky stretched out far beyond the horizon, and the sky was mottled by tufts of white. It was too cold to really be spring and I found myself enjoying the scene from the back deck, half invested in a Robert Parker novel, half considering the latest developments in ( Read more... )

On my way to NYC a few days ago, we drove through your lovely town of Carlisle and ate breakfast at Bob Evan's. I thought of you and was shocked by the amount of trucks passing in and out.

Now, I think I understand your inherent hatred of Carlisle and I will never take Pittsburgh for granted ever again. I would have called you to hang out for a bit, but seeing it was 5 AM, and my kicking-screaming-yelling-loud family was with me, I didn't know how interested you would be. Oh! And that small fact that I don't have your phone number :-) lol

Great entry, I like how you describe yourself and your ambitions. It's very fitting.

You are absolutely correct about all the trucks. Carlisle is like the trucking capital of the world. Any truck that has to go just about anywhere on the East Coast goes through Carlisle. So, yeah, it sucks.

5 AM or no 5 AM, kicking-screaming-yelling family or no kicking-screaming-yelling family, I would have been interested. I'll IM you my phone # sometime. Just in case.

Thanks for the compliments on the entry. The first one is always where I try to affirm a few simple facts about my life and self to somehow prepare myself for what comes after.
