Big Hugs! I wish I were home right now to make this better! But all I can do is try to offer another point of view. Obviously you aren't the only person to have ever wanted to keep a distance from people for fear of being hurt. It's an incredibly common defense mechanism, for having your heart broken is excruciatingly painful. But it seasons us. It's one more experience to add to the tool belt, and hopefully something you'd never want to actually rid from your memory banks. I completely understand your resistence towards moving into this because the "like" may suddenly disappear. But really, what's the worst case scenario if that does occur? You tell the guy you're not into it anymore, and you walk away. Are you more afraid to get close to someone because it will be the final door closing the chapter on you and Connor? Try not to think of it that way, because no matter how many people you and he date, there's always the possiblity of finding each other down the road. You dating Mr. C or Gregg or anyone else doesn't close
( ... )
i totally disregarded your spelling errors! you would've been proud. i didn't think about them once! not once! and i'm not afraid of moving on with someone because it would close off everything with connor. i don't want to be with connor, though i do miss the familiarity of someone... their touch, their voice, their...everything.
Ditto no, but seriously, I think Hayley is so right about everything. You might be afraid but what's that saying...? It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.. so there you go! I love you hunny I can't wait to actually talk these things over in person!
