wow they shouldnt have a dog in the first place obviously. Ridiculous. Drunk?! And no fucking leash? Like sorry, but thats probably how the dog got lost in the first place.

We had a few incidents like this with cats at our old apartment building in the winter. I should write about them. *adds it to list of shit to do*

You should, its interesting to hear about.

I think they completely forgot about the lead to be honest - not great but I got some gratitude and some necklaces so the mood has improved :D

I'm glad you found the owners. We rescued a lost dog once and were able to find the owners and had a similar experience when they reunited. First of all the dog had tags so we left voice mails saying we had the dog. It took two days for them to call us back. Then when they came to pick him up they did not even act that happy to see him. If it had been one of my dogs I would have been hysterically checking my message every 5 minutes and dropped everything to go get my dog back. People are just weird sometimes.

I know right! I would be forever in their debt if someone saved my little ones from a main road in the middle of -12 and heavy snowfall. Well I'd be greatful in any weather hehe but especially then, I think they were really very lucky we took him in. At least we know we did the right thing by the dogs and they appreciate the safe night in with us even if the owners don't. Though admittedly now I do think they were happy to see him and very thankful (hence the homemade necklaces) perhaps they were just a bit flustered when they picked him up

Same thing happened to me last week! Someone found a lost dog and dropped it off at the clinic. I took care of him, bathed him, brushed him, then called Monday and found his owners. Turns out, they didn't know he was lost, came in and picked him up, and then was like "Oh... Can you help find him a home? We can't keep him anymore..."

/facepalm

Pft so irritating! I have to admit that despite my little rant these people weren't as bad as I first thought, speaking to them for the second time they were really greatful thanking us with presents etc. was an improvement I sorta think they might have been drinking A LOT on friday night when he went missing and not noticed until saturday when one of them (the guy) was still rather drunk. Oh well he lives very nearby so I'll be keeping an eye out for the dog :)
