Question:

Suppose one wanted to go to Grad school. Would one have to repay student loans that were accrued for a bachelor's degree while going to grad school, or could those payments be deferred until after completing grad school?

(This is for Kristen's benefit. Not mine.)

Generally they can be deferred.

Thanks! That just made her life a lot less stressful.

Say "hi" to Alex for me!... because we've met and she knows who I am. Don't ask how.

Will do. ;) And it's okay, you still get to be Uncle Christopher!

I think it depends on where you go for Grad school, but, as far as I know, you can get a deferment on your previous loans pretty much anywhere, the details just vary.

You'll just have to deal with a LOT more debt when you finish grad school.

Based on the little bit of looking into this that we've done, this seems to be the general consensus. It's just good to get reassured that deferment is a possibility; Kristen really wants to go to grad school but is scared of her current loans/new loans she will acquire.
