I like the "Handle With Care" cover that is on the album. I've listened to the album a couple of times and have enjoyed it. Horray for leaked albums. I have the new Cat Power and Belle and Sebastian. I'm still trying to get my hands on the leaked Mogwai.
Have you listend to Wolf Parade at all? Their album was produced by Issac Brock and is fucking awesome. One of my favorites of the year.
i think my expectations were just way too high, since i loved live @ echo so much and i knew they'd be mostly the same songs. it could be the whole "i liked the first version i knew and loved" syndrome with those songs, since i still like most of the material that is new to me (except handle with care, obviously).
just everytime i listen to rilo kiley i die a little inside, and it makes me sad that jenny lewis, who i am currently obsessed with (can you tell?) would do something i less than loved. the end.
Yeah I know what you mean. But I never heard live @ echo so I had nothing to really compare the album with. But if I had I would proably also be plaqued with the "i liked the first version" syndrome you speak of.
I remember seeing Rilo Kiley a few years ago, right after Execution came out. And their was no one really at the show. They still played a really good show and Jenny Lewis kept on taking photos of the audiance to show her mom. So I guess we were one of the first larger crowds on that tour.
