Yeah, let's not go crazy. It's possible to be critical of Obama's presidency and not have it be racially motivated. This is the kind of scary rhetoric that will make it socially unacceptable to question Obama's policies, and I've heard it throughout the election season from Obama supporters.

Not to say that there won't be racists out there, but things can be taken to extremes by both sides.

It's a pretty extreme rhetoric, but I think it's a response to the (radical) far right backlash against Obama we saw in the last few months of the election. I mean, I make that kind of joke about McCain supporters a lot but I know folks like you and Xris disagree with me on valid and well researched points.

It's really fucking hard to ignore some of the shit that the republican party dredged up, though. Cartoons of Powell being tempted to the Obama camp with fried chicken and grape drink, Obama mannequins being lynched in effigy, even McCain and Palin mutely smiling through cries of "TERRORIST," "KILL HIM" and black reporters being told "SIT DOWN BOY" at their rallies. You have to keep in mind that while we're going to joke and characterize the strong anti-Obama stuff because of that, we're not doing it as an attack on the smart ones like you.
