This episode had some great things going for it (YAY for finally getting to see the 40-year-old gAang in all their kick ass, grown up glory) . But there was one element that bothered me. A LOT. And I opted to vent my frustration in comic form.
Needless to say, the comic and subsequent rant totally spoils the episode's plot. You've been warned.

I know, right! I can see fighting over Bolin (because he's at least fun to hang with). But Mako is such a downer and both girls can do better.
I really wanted to see Asami become like a happier version of Bruce Wayne (i.e. the one with all the money, great cars, and gadgets that she uses to even the score against super powered baddies).
I also wanted to see Korra and Asami become friends. Hell, I'd support them becoming an item, too (they have more chemistry with each other than Mako)
and this whole "in case of cheating, blame the girl" trope needs to die a horrible and swift death.
AGREED! I don't understand why this supposedly confident character who claims to love Mako doesn't just ask HIM about this stuff instead of playing '20 Questions' with his brother and rudely assuming that Korra is some devious boyfriend thief.

I've also found I've been getting more and more annoyed with Mako. Have you noticed that since Mako declared he was staying with Asami, Korra hasn't done anything else to win him over, but it's been Mako stirring the pot. I'm thinking when Korra accused Sato, Mako accused Korra doing it out of jealously. Yes, Mako, because Korra is the type of person that would do that. @_@
This whole thing annoys me because Mike and Byran and written such great female characters in the past, but not it feels like they're getting sidetracked by this whole romance plot.
I REALLY wish Mike and Byran would try to stop writing romance because they both really suck at it, or at least bring in someone that does better at romance than them.

Here's another odd thing about Asami that someone brought up to me...
It's weird that a sociable/pretty/popular girl like Asami doesn't have any close friends outside Team Avatar. It's like she didn't have a life before she rammed Mako with her bike. In that context, I guess it's not surprising that she's gone full Bunny Boiler.
