A rose...? [-Muttering to himself as he inspects the rose he found near his bed-]
Why in the name of Landis would they offer us a rose? Tis strange, such customs this world has...
[-Sighs slightly as he settles it down upon the pillow.-]I presume this is yet another farce hosted by those miserable sods! Another game for us to unwillingly partake

I did. [He carefully untangles a snare. He can't afford to yank the puppet's hair out. It wasn't like Ukon could grow it back and he'd never hear the end of it if the puppet went bald on account of his carelessness]
Are they dangerous? Release a poison gas or something of that nature? [More interested in the morbid side of things, as ever]

I do believe the scientists given us these roses in celebration of their holiday. [Remembering all of the fuss that the people made about Valentine's Day, Gabranth figured out pretty quickly what these roses are suppose to symbolize as well as the chocolate he was given today by a nameless stranger.]
Sakon...[Glances over at him again with smile this time] Does such a event exist within your homeland?

[He rubs the back of his neck thoughtfully, and nods.]
We have it on Earth. Most countries of Europe or European origin celebrate it. In Japan, it's when girls give chocolate to the boys they like. If the boy likes them back, he'll give them chocolate on White Day.
[He touches Ukon's cheek thoughtfully, running his fingers over the ancient wood, and trying very, very hard not to meet Gabranth's eyes. It's embarrassing enough to talk about this... stuff.]
Most other countries just see it as a time to celebrate with loved ones. Chocolates and roses and fat little cherubs in loin-cloths are generally involved in the rather blatant acts of pure consumerism.

[A lone eyebrow raised once he heard Sakon's explanation. Such a holiday reminded him vaguely of Amicus Day in Landis but he chose not to speak of it]
Little fat cherubs in loin-cloths do not appeal to me so I wonder why is it they they would be as iconic as the roses and chocolates associated with such a celebration.
[Falls quiet for a moment as he inspects the rose, his gaze slowly traveling over to Sakon again who seem to be avoiding his stare]
Sakon, have you ever celebrated such before?
