[-Pauses-]

Basch?

[-Sounds much happier now-]

The Gods are merciful after all...

I am thankful to hear you voice again, brother. I was fearful that perhaps Fate has torn us apart for a second time. Such an idea worried me greatly when I awoken here in this false haven.

I am glad to have you back. I had worried they had sent you... back to Ivalice. Twould have been cruel to do so.

As much as this place is no heaven, it is a place where you can live again. One day... perhaps it shall be peaceful and prosperous?

I would come to your aid, but it seems you have someone doing so already. I am about to go after Larsa. Your young charge is here.

That's one voice I don't mind hearing.

Welcome back. It's about over, I think.

Aye, I am thankful to hear from you as well.

Shinjiro, has this battle been won? The causalities, how many has fallen besides I?

I kept 'em safe. Where I could, but we lost a lot of damned people.

'Won' hm.. the creatures stopped, so yeah. Death toll was up around twenty one, last I heard.

...Twenty-one? A high enough death toll in my opinion but it is less than I originally dread.

How're you doing?

I am well now that I hear the chaos that begun has now quelled.
However, I am horribly disappointed at my own follies...

Forgive me for being lax in my return, forgive for failing to aid this city and it's citizens.
I trust all is well now that the fiends have fled…

Yet, how many have been slain since I last remembered?

Things are going well, and I don't need to forgive you...

I'm not sure and I'd... rather not know the exact number. I think it's a lot.

[-Sighs deeply-]

Nay, this was not your fault but rather my own fault for allowing my foolishness to get the better of me.

"The war is forever lost"? That's not pessimism I'm used to hearing from you, Gabranth.

It's good to have you back, in any case.

As long as this realm is under the control of petty and viscous men, this war is llost. The day the scientists who have stolen us finally meet their end, is the day we shall win this war.

Until then, we only survive the battles and hope for such a day to come.

Aye, it is good to be alive again, Reno.
