Back when I had cable something similar happened to me, but I'd signed up for the "extended channels" package and was accidentally given the premium movie channels as well for a while. However as someone who has now gone cold turkey off any sort of reception enhancement at all (i.e., I'm back to the equivalent of rabbit-ears), believe me that you're getting plenty of value for your $20/month. "Free" broadcast tv, even in an urban area, is pretty limited in what gets good reception. And since the switch to digital-only, you don't even have the option of putting up with marginal reception of low-signal channels. Instead you get freezes, and blocks, and programs going in and out randomly.
Good Eats is on Hulu. We don't have TV at our house so I can't make any suggestions as to alternate providers...go figure, DBF has 2 HAM radio antennas attached to the house but I can't get TV reception or commercial radio. Thank goodness for Netflix, Hulu and a large-ish DVD collection.
