Post-surgery update

This past monday I had surgery to remove my dialysis access.  Yay!  It's gone!  But it was far more invasive than I ever thought it would be.  Today Kirk and I changed the bandages for the first time; read: Kirk changed the bandages while I cringed like a lump on the chair while trying really hard not to look ( Read more... )

Congratulations on getting to the point where they can take it out. May you heal quickly from the removal, and with no complications.

Very true. Mom and Dad, both experienced medico type people both remarked at how well it looked. It's strange, it's not the scar that bothers me it's just the incision. Maybe it's because I've turned germophobe now that my immune system is suppressed.

It was mostly a stay at home vacation, but we went to Chez Mom and Dad for an overnight Sunday/Monday. That was nice. Also got out for some antiquing. Quite fun! :)
