I think I love crazy!America more than I should. The bit where he's all "TAKE IT BACK OR I'LL KILL YOU TOO" God, it made me cringe, but it was delectable. It's nice to see the other superpower acting like an insane child. Poor England, though. I'll bet he'll be seeing America's crazy eyes in his nightmares.

Oh, the fifties. I really do love this time period.

Oh, my dear sweet Lord in heaven, if you go through with the whole letter box omake suggestion, best believe i will spam it up with deep, philosophical convos with Russia about how he was kind of justified, but not really, and it will be awesome. =D

I don't think he'll be sleeping, much. I mean, he's just sort of realized that he (and most of the western world) are going up the first loop on a rollercoaster, and...their seatbelts aren't as tight as they would like them to be.

Oh, the fifties. I really do love this time period.

Just wait 'till we get to McCarthyism.

I'm totally gunning for the letterbox too. And I'm sure you and Russia will have some excellent exchanges. Just promise me that you won't...encourage him. XD

Also, holy shit your icon I love you. You get my Crowley/Aziraphale one in return.

*Squee!!*

Just promise me that you won't...encourage him. XD

NO PROMISES! And, he wouldn't listen to me. He won't be like Pyrrhic's America, all happy and open and willing to answer all of the silly questions fangirls come up with, I'd imagine. We have to work a bit for him, amiright?

FFFF!! It's AWESOME!

He's a difficult one to draw out. And conversation was never one of his strong points. France had to teach him how to hold one back in the early 1700's. XD

Dude, they've been my OTP for about a zillion years. LIke. You have no idea. *hugs you*

Woah, that was good. America was going a bit batshit there for a while, and the story felt very realistic. I also liked the interaction with Canada. Good job!

US/Russia UST!

Thanks so much! Batshit America is indeed something else, isn't he?

And yes, every story could use more Canada. ♥

But even if you put him in, most folks don't notice!

Dude, I think we're all concerned, Pyrrhic and I included. America is becoming...a little unpredictable.

Is it bad that I want fanworks posted to the comm?

Your opinion means the world to us, my dear. ♥ We're only asking because Pyrrhic and I don't want to seem like we expect people to be flooding us with fanworks or something. Like, if one of you guys wants to do it, we're psyched and totally flattered, but we would have felt weird opening the comm with the implication (however faint) that we were awaiting your offerings. But I guess we'll just have to see the end results of the poll.

But his convo with New Zealand was so cute. HE GOT HIM A BRIDGE FOR CHRISTMAS! :DDD

I just loved seeing the four cousins together. (Pyrrhic and I figured that was how they were related) They just seem like they'd be a blast to hang out with.

I may have emphasized with England far too much...Well, England is coming from the same headspace as the readers, in a way. As far as he was concerned, America was a sane, decent kid who just...gets a little excited about things sometimes. We felt that you guys and England would be pretty equally shocked by ( ... )

Is it bad that I want fanworks posted to the comm? I mean, they do it at the [info]all_he_ever comm

I think the biggest difference between fanworks for TCE and fanworks for AHEW is that AHEW doesn't have any other communities where things like that might be posted and reliably seen by most other AHEW fans. It's hard to imagine a TCE fanwork that wouldn't also be appropriate for the russiamerica community, which I'd assume we're all also watching. TCE also links fanworks in the Index, so that's two places other than the comm itself where people can find fanworks for TCE.

As much as I enjoyed seeing America's downhill descent into madness, it's the little details woven in between the heaviness that really struck me. The biscuit house, the careless tidbits of information about the commonwealth, the incessant rain, the noises from above. I think it added into the tension instead of distracting from it.

It's heartbreaking to see America like this but I guess he hasn't learned his lesson about not being emotionally involved when it comes to conflict. America is really bad at breaking up, yeesh.

YAY for commonwealth + america interaction. Also, what did Australia get? =D

Yes. That's what we love to hear. We're both real suckers for detail. And I think that the claustrophobia of the scene is helped by the fact that it's a family reunion of sorts. Because I don't know about you, but I don't think I've ever managed to get through one with my extended family without walking in on something very like this confrontation between America and England. (Minus the nukes.)

Also, what did Australia get? =D

Ooo, you'd have to ask Pyrrhic. Hey! Hey, Pyrrhic! What did Australia get?

Probably a military base? ^_^; America keeps 'giving' them to Australia, anyway...

He's not giving Australia that shiny new F-22 that he's been asking for, according to wikipedia.
