*hands you a toothbrush*

So glad you liked it. I think we all need a touch of "too sweet to handle" when it comes to this pairing. =D

Great chapter, this may be one of my favorites actually. It's always nice to see America and Russia being lovely together. Also, the parts about Disneyland have a special place in my heart because the place has always been a big part of my life. It's also kind of amusing to be reminded how Disneyland has changed over the years.

I think this is one of my favorites, too. XD

And working on this made me want to go to Disneyland again. I've only been once, when I was four, but I think America's little speech inspired me. God knows it had me fumbling (discreetly, of course) for the tissues.

Disneyland!!!

It's so hard to pick apart the things I liked in this chapter, but I think one of my favorite things was Russia's description of himself as a child. Oh Vanya, do you have any idea how cute you make yourself sound~

America's speech and the descriptions of the fireworks were touching.

I know, right? He just throws out a detail like "building snowmen" like it's the most boring, usless thing in the world, and we're all "Aww, baby Russia playing in the snooow~ <3". I bet you anything that America is in the same boat as we are. XD

America's speech and the descriptions of the fireworks were touching.

What can we say? Disneyland very nearly brings out the philosopher in him.

I think this is the ONLY series I would not instantly pass over when the words "Russia," "America," and "Disneyland" were included together in a Hetalia fanfic. The fact that they get into an existential discussion about the point of progress and the meaning of being a country pretty much sums up what I LOVE about all of the parts of The Chosen End. It's intelligent without being snotty, witty without playing down the characters, and deep without losing the playful tone of the original Hetalia series. Excellent, EXCELLENCE chapter.

Oh, wow. That's really a fantastic thing to hear. ♥

And I feel like you can even take that on a wider scale, because that's what I love about the Hetalia fandom in general. It's not...reinterpreting history, it's just looking at it through a different, more personal lens. And the dual nature of the characters is sort of a reflection of how we all interact with history: it's got huge sweep and scope, and it's easy to get lost in it or feel insignificant, but history is also made up of people, and so we've all got our place in it.
