"I'm sorry I made you love me." His voice was young and thready. "I know you didn't want to."
That line... just... I can't even...

They'll be okay! They just need some time. Give them a little while to get their heads straightened out, and there will be maximum cuddles.

Nice moment of characterization when America almost changed his mind. he probably sees this as "giving up" and America hates giving up. he might lose interest, but giving up is not something he does.
Looking forward to what America and Russia do now that they've decided to go their separate ways for a while.

He totally does. I think that's why he resisted this for so long. Giving up is never good! Giving up is bad by definition, as far as America's concerned! It goes completely against his nature for there to be something he wants, desperately, and not go after it.

Wow, you guys. I think this is why I love TCE so damn much. You're writing about a relationship. Not just a pairing. Or it's just me and my fangirlism for this story is showing OTL
... and I'm waiting for USUK now. Yes, I think it will do America good, I mean, a relationship without missiles in the backyard. And you know, something that doesn't revolve around Russia, ' ( ... )

This right here has always been, well, really our one and only goal with TCE. It started out almost as a--as a social experiment, you know? XD We were like, "What would happen if we rewound Russian/American history all the way to their first diplomatic contact, and just played it forward? How would their relationship develop?" We load the dice for them to get together and have sex, sure, I mean, We Ship It, but really we try to be as hands-off as we can, so long as the boys submit to some Themes and narrative structure along the way. We're interested in their relationship. Not in them having sex (though that's great) or their sturm und drang (although they're good at that!); we just want to see them have a relationship.
So, um...yeah. More hearts. ♥♥

Well, you know, for 54 chapters, only 4 with actual sex (oh, god, but WHAT sex =DDD) is not that much. And while it's hot and all... it's not what makes TCE, you know, THE Russia/America story for me. I think it's really neat that instead of writing "how to get those two guys in bed" you write about "how to make those two dysfunctional, stubborn males to act mature and have a relationship (without the "I have nuclear missiles in my backyard, what are you gonna do about it? =D" threats even if that cracks me up)". So yeah. You're doing an awesome job :> I think TCE takes a huge part in why I'm in this fandom anyway, I mean, I love the boys, but constant "Russia-rapes-America, cue The Cold War angst" is starting to get on my nerves. I have pairing-love breakdown lately and I'm ranting, I know OTL. I think I might be to old to believe that sexy times and "one tru wuv" are solution to everything (42 is, duh). So yeah, thank you for writing TCE, this sounds stupid but, thank you =D
He'll have tried the alternative, and it ( ... )
