Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for information on this film but I've only gotten hits on the video game movie...and look, Rennie's playing someone who's (probably) not a sociopath. Not that he doesn't play a great sociopath, but his talent is so much greater than to be typecast as dark characters all the time.
You're welcome! There isn't really much around about that film yet. The only things I could find were this one, then an article here (no mentioning of CKR, which I find extremely weird), and this (pdf file). And a few articles that more or less only mention the movie. That's it. They are not very good with advertising, or maybe it'll just take a while. I guess we'll see.
"If you just want to watch a funny film with a lot of silly surface stuff, you can have that, because it’s a story about a girl who made Jesus on a wall," says the actor, who bought a stamp that imprints the Virgin Mary on your "holy toast" as a parting gift for MacIsaac.
Haven't I read something about Callum and Virgin Mary toast before?
Genie Award-winning actor Callum Keith Rennie, sitting next to a hospital bed containing actor Kate Lavender, portraying his comatose daughter Meg in the movie based on Josh MacDonald’s play Halo. Sounds like your typical Canadian comedy :-)
Christmas-tree salesman Donald Is that a job? Really?
Holy Toaster! I really like that.
It's certainly not Callum's first role as a dysfunctional father, still it will be a refreshing change from all the baddies! Patiently waiting for some promotion...
typical Canadian comedy :-) Ha! And yeah, you are right.
Is that a job? Really? See, I was wondering too, so I googled it. Because, well, can't be seasonal only, right? Some Christmas-tree salesman apparently travel a lot the rest of the time. And I guess the others sell other stuff the rest of the year? Like... flowers, maybe? I guess? But anyway, it's a nice Canadian fairy-tale job. :)
Patiently waiting for some promotion... *does the same, not so patiently*

While his specialty is world-weary, hard-boiled characters, Halo allows him to handle humour and tragedy in equal measure.
Sounds interesting. Probably a Flower & Garnet type of movie? Though that one wasn't really funny. Looking very much forward to this!
And LOL about the "holy toast"! :D

It does, doesn't it? I am a bit... well. Canadian comedies can be... depressing different. But the play was apparently a big hit, so I am optimistic.
And he's definitely not a serial killer in this, so I am all for it. :D
