Famous Sightings.

You probably kicked me out for being absent for an extended period of time, but I've got something I think is pretty cool.

I went to London, and I saw Maggie Smith sitting at the bar in the theatre I saw Hamlet at. It was exciting, really.

This leads me to the question: Have you had a famous sighting, who was it, and how did you react?

I've had two-

1. I saw Ani DiFranco at an anti war rally in SF. I couldn't believe it was her, so I went up and asked (like a dork!). It was her. I told her how big a fan I was, and told her I was going to her show that night. She said cool, see you there.

Honestly, she wasn't very friendly, but I guess she gets it a lot.

2. On my 18th birthday (last month) I was out to eat with my family at a restaurant on the embarcadero (in SF) and Yoko Ono was sitting at the table next to ours. Her table helped sing happy birthday! Other than waving bye when they left, I didn't react. We talked about her a lot in whispers though. haha.

1. i met Krzysztof Kieslowski (Three Colors Trilogy) right before he died. there were few of us, and we saw him in a book store in Warsaw. we said hello, he said hello, and that was about it. well actually one of my friends told him he loved him, and Kieslowski looked at him like he was crazy, and then walked away.

2. and then i saw Carrot Top. that was before the whole collect call commercials, when i loved him for his hair. we saw him in SF, walking down a street. he acted all normal, and i think we really scared him. i might have pulled his hair.

Recently, I was walking down the street in New York City with my mom when she pokes me in the arm and says, "look to your left!" I turn my head just in time to see Woody Allen walking by with his wife/daughter. He looks really old, which makes sense since he is really old now.

A better story, though, takes place when I was about 8 or 9. I was in some clothing store with my parents and my younger brother when my dad calls me over. He says, "Sam, this is Robin Williams." Mind you, this was around the time of Aladdin, and I thought the Genie was the absolute epitome of awesomeness. In fact, I found him so awesome that I was too embarrassed (I guess by my entire lack of awesomeness) to even talk to him. I went and hid in the corner for a while, before playing tag with his similarly-aged daughter and my brother.
