The guy had come along willingly enough, but Ray didn't like the look in his eyes. Didn't like how he looked like him, either.

Ray leaned against the front of the desk, arms crossed, rolling a toothpick back and forth in his mouth. They were just waiting on Cain. Hopefully the cowboy's presence wouldn't set this guy off.

Cain had stayed at home until he could convince Glitch to stay put and watch over Az while he took a walk. The name Zero never came up, but Cain had his priorities set. He stood in the same clothes he wore back in the O.Z. after getting out of the Suit and made it into the office, tipping his hat and settling in the back of the room.

And not once did he take his eyes off of Zero, pushing his coat back just enough to show that yes, he was wearing his holster.

Zero's arms were folded over his chest, and even though Cain was in the room, his attention was fixed on the man who looked like him. He'd seen a few of the 'clones' in passing, but never up close. They couldn't all be real, could they? He was tempted to throw something at him, just to see if it phased through.

He didn't look worried or intimidated or the least bit interested in what any or the three had to say. If anything, Zero just looked completely bored.

Ray was doing a fine job of returning the older man's glare, but, finding he didn't much care for that glare himself, Horatio took it upon himself to intensify Ray's efforts, aiming a disapproving glower of his own at Zero over Ray's shoulder.

"Well," he said as Cain settled himself against the wall. "Now that we are all here, perhaps, Mr. Zero, you have a few words you might like to say in your defense?"

"Just Zero," he insisted icily. If a title was completely necessary, he'd prefer General, but considering his position, he doubted anyone present was up for taking requests.

"What's to defend? Whatever he told you is likely more or less what happened." Zero didn't have to like Cain to trust the man enough not to go stretching the truth. Not that there was much need for it in this case. "Tin Man. Longcoat. We didn't get a long back when we had an entire world to roam, not bound to translate any better on a smaller scale, is it?"
