somehow, for some reason, when reading that poem, I had the song (i mean, i realize there is a line in this poem that sorta references this, but i'm sure it's unintentional, but ANYWAY) "One More Cup of Coffee" by Bob Dylan in my head and if you listen to it you'll maybe notice that even the tone/sentiment/feeling is similar... was this about your mom's visit? it felt like it might have been.

the ocean is huge. it was once so large it separated hearts until they tore (but didn't quite break). it's actually kind of unbearable, the size of the ocean.

i'm SO glad that you liked the earrings/card/words/pic. you are the first to comment on the words. people don't generally GET the words. admittedly, it was an odd one.
