Yesterday, I had a very nice Harry Potter-y evening ( Read more... )

Yes, it's a wonderful invention of the human mind, escapism. (Very poignant icon you have there. :)) The best thing was that I actually got to write some fic! I haven't done that in weeks. I'll still have to go back to the grrrr RL stuff, by Tuesday at the latest. But while I'll surely get that knot untied at some point, people being deliberately unhelpful when they really shouldn't be is just the surest way to drive me up the wall.

Haven't heard much from you lately - are you in better health again now? :)

Yay for fic writing! Any idea how soon we can look forward to reading it? Is it fluffy or darker?

I've been writing like a fiend, too, at least compared to my normmal pace...which is a good bit of the reason I've been so quiet, at least since the tummy bug went away. Although, I swear, I should never be allowed to say I hate ANYTHING in fic because next thing you know, I'll be writing it. *sigh*

Blech, I hate that. Some little ego/power trip thing to make other people frustrated. I know you'll get through it, though. *comforts*

Thank you! The picture is by elasticblue. She's such a wonderful artist, I'm just sad that I could make decent icons from my favorite of her pieces - they're very detailed and just lose too much. *sobs* This ( ... )

Much worse. It's gen fic. And it's shaping up to be epic again if I'm not careful. Anyway, yeah. A big project, nothing that will be ready for posting next week, or anytime soon, if ever. It was just nice to be writing again.

Well, good luck with your own projects! And I'd be lying if I said that this hasn't made me very, very curious:

I swear, I should never be allowed to say I hate ANYTHING in fic because next thing you know, I'll be writing it.

Just what was it that you'd lately said you hate in fic? *g*

Sorry to hear that RL has been a pain.

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but I was thinking at work the other day that someone (me) should issue people with a license to argue.

That way, I won't get stuck having to justify my actions to some clown who's too thick to understand the logic, and is just obstructing me out of bloody-mindedness/bucolic intellect/get-away-from-me-you-idiot-ness anyway.

As for a rec (from your last post), this is one of my favourite Sirius stories ever. The author's not on LJ (yet).

PG-13 - http://azkabanslair.slashcity.org/ShapeOfHisHands.htm

And *hugs you and hopes your day/week gets better*

Thanks, Esinde. For the hugs and for the link! I took a peek at the fic and came across the fabulous line You are only fifteen, after all, and the private lives of adults are hardly an open book to you, even if you are the famous Boy-Who-Lived. You’re also the boy who has not lived all that long just yet. *g* I'll certainly keep reading! :)

That's SO true. SO true.

But anyway. It's the weekend now. I won't think about it again before next week.

I really like that writer. Did you ever read 'Sirius Laughed'? That was the first time I ever truly fell for a first hand narrative. It was masterful, and very much a Lupin sort of voice. Is she going to write any more stuff? She only wrote two R/S, with the promise of a novella to come and then *poof* she disappeared.

D_T, you still write?

"Sirius Laughed" is that one fic that I keep meaning to read and still I never get around to it.

Sometimes people just disappear from the fandom. Canis M. for example was one of the most popular, if not THE most popular R/S writers before OOTP came out (and it was well-deserved, too), and yet she moved on to other things and other fandom. There's nothing we can do but respect that.

D_T, you still write?

Why, of course. It's not something you suddenly stop doing, is it? I'm just terribly, terribly slow, that's all.
