I love AVPP.

I think it's one of my fave Petey things, after Campion.

Good charectors, well acted, wonderfully surreal situations and yet always seems to be rooted in the real world.

In many way series 2 is even better. Darker.

See, I like all the elements of AVPP (as you point out, they do sound awfully good on page) but somehow the result doesn't do a lot for me. Maybe I should try series 2. I think it doesn't help that I'm really not that fond of his girlfriend - not character bashing, I think the character is interesting, I'm just not sure taht I like her.

I just finished watching season two...literally half an hour ago. I'm rather fond of Greta, and the storyline with Bob and Glenn Oates was hilarious, but I'm starting to really dislike Rose Marie. And I freely admit that the ending made me cry (I sort of saw part of it coming when Sammy's bike wouldn't start, but Jock completely took me by surprise...)

I don't find Rose Marie likeable, but she is fascinating. She has such a glossy surface, like she's lying to herself as much as to anyone else. I did finally watch all of both seasons. I'd watch Polish but I've never seen it available.
