That's heartwrenching, painful and soulful. The message and the emotion eclipses any of the "mistakes" that are certainly minimal and secondary to the characters and their shared story.
As hard as this sort of outcome can be to read, and as horrible for any and all of the characters involved, from Ryan- who paid the ultimate price- to those forced to confront and live with their choices and roles, it's powerful and thought-provoking.

Thanks again. However distressing Ryan's horrible fate and the unsettling subject matter, the fact was that he had beem cast aside and was deemed expendable, so his situation really was desperate.

It's so sad because Kirsten's afraid of him and even in death he wouldn't hurt her... he just wanted to be where he was the happiest.
*sigh*
I don't think I've ever read a fic that has made me smile and feel sad at the same time. This was so refreshing.
