the patch? a birth control patch? how does it work and what are its sideffects? i've never heard of it...

They're these little skin colored patches that you stick on your stomach, butt, upper arm or back and you leave them on for a week, and each Sunday, you take off one patch and reapply another one. You can't have it in the same place two weeks in a row. Like, I'll put mine on one side of my stomach, and the next week, the other side. You do this for three weeks, and the fourth week you are patchless and that's when you get your period.
For me, the only side effects were my boobs grew (SCORE!) and I got a little moody right before I would get my period.
They don't come off unless you take them off, and it feels like a band aid. It works really well. I haven't gotten pregnant yet. And it's so much easier because you don't have to worry about taking the pill every day, same time.

Also, it makes your period lighter and not last as long.
It also helps with cramps.
