I just want to say this...

If it is finally proven, absolutely, that JT is not real, I will hesitate to ever trust someone like that (meaning someone I don't "technically" know - a writer or other artist) in that way again. I will feel so damaged that I won't ever want to give that much of myself to someone. I will close myself off from the ability to do so. If Laura ( Read more... )

Your feelings are exactly why this hoax angers me so much. She reached out for connection and support and then betrayed those connections. I'm sorry your trust has been damaged.

Personally, I think it's a hoax, after the newest New York Times article and everything that followed-from blogs/other articles, things like that, and even the Terminator2 group is pretty much in agreement that he doesn't exist.

The evil voice in me says this sounds so like another attention whore, though I still like her/his books. ^^;;

JT's books reminded me of the childhood I came from. Granted, I was never subjected to the kind of torture Jeremiah was, but feelings of torture or rape can be universal and metaphorical ( ... )

When did JT ever say he had AIDS? anonymous January 23 2006, 23:33:00 UTC
All of a sudden everyone is writing this as if it were a well-known fact. But I've been following the JT story since autumn of 2002 and up until the Jan. 9 NY Times article, had NEVER seen or heard JT or anyone associated with JT ever "announce" or "proclaim" that JT had AIDS.

This is one of the things that continues to make me wonder if there isn't some ulterior motive behind these "hoax" theories.

Another example: Barista says Nancy Murdock does not exist -- yet she does, I met her in person twice. Google the name in Milton, Massachusetts; you get a listing. That's her.
