I'm both loving and hating that LJ doesn't seem to save drafts anymore.  I love that I can get a rant out without it saving, but sometimes I chicken out posting stuff that needs to be said.  I do that a lot on all social media, and apparently it pisses people off, so I've more or less stopped posting on everything but Twitter.  Everywhere I see ( Read more... )

I understand what you mean about posting. I sometimes feel like that but i have to remind myself that it's my journal and I can post whatever I want. If people aren't interested they can skip it. My current problem is that I seem to be too lazy to write my own journal. lol FB is much quicker and I seem to post almost evrything there lately.

My friends here all play Munchkin. It looks like fun but I haven't gotten to play it yet. Another one that is pretty fun is Bullet and doesn't seem to be available outside of Canada. I've played that a few times and find I enjoy it. I've also played Settlers of Catan once or twice and that is alright too. I don't own any of these games though so I have to wait to be invited to someone's place to play.

I was also introduced to cards against humanity over Christmas break. That is a fun game, but you need at least 3 or 4 people to play. but it's simple so take no time at all to learn. :)

I'm the same way with Twitter. That is where I am most likely to update anything. I don't know why, granted most of what I say there is fluff, but still.

I more or less (at the moment, playing by myself) have the hang of munchkin. I'm sure it will change if I play in a crowd, but I wanted to at least get familiar with the cards before taking it out with me. I started checking out the expansions, and there are a few that would be fun to add, but the base set seems to be fairly solid.

I've seen Settlers of Catan, but it seems o be really slow-moving, and I like games that are a little more fast paced. It takes a long time to set up, and the turns take forever, I like quick strategy games.

I think Cards Against Humanity may be fun in a group of people who don't really play games. I'll probably take it with me to the next university party (they have delusions of a formal wine and cheese party...) I'd take Munchkin, but they aren't the right kind of people for that one.

I am a fan of being able to hide/mute or just scroll by things that don't interest me. Doesn't bother me, doesn't bother the original poster, everyone's good.

For fun card games in a group setting, I love love love Fluxx and Apples To Apples. Other Looney Labs games (they make Fluxx) are moderately fun too - I used to have Chrononauts and Aquarius is fun with the right crowd.

Someone told me that Cards against Humanity was just a dirty version of Apples to Apples, but I can't justify any more card games until I find some people to play with.

I will look into Fluxx for my next purchase.

You can have my copy of Apples to Apples if you want. It's only been opened, never touched - we always used Bear's copy when he hosted game night and it didn't go with me to Dallas so it sat in storage for years.

That would be awesome if you really don't mind. I'd love it!

If you want to shoot me an email (trish.oc at hotmail dot com) I'll send you my address.
