It doesn't sound horrible to say you were spoiled at Christmas.
I didn't realize that other people could hear joint noise until I was backpacking and my friend observed they could hear my hip grinding before I altered my gait. Oh well.
My dad still assumes I am exaggerating. It's kind of funny when he suddenly notices things about it, like that I wear a knee brace during day camp. "Where did that come from?" "I've had a brace for ten years. I only wear it when I need it."
The remaining damage to my hip is probably permanent, but it's a lot better than it was in 2012. I am glad for that.
I've accepted that because I only limp when I'm sore/tired, no one will ever believe that I am hurt, and I just have to deal with that. It is what it is and I'm not ready to give up frisbee (and hope to be able to start indoor running/walking soon. Should be easier on my knees than outdoor stuff in the woods.
