Wheel of Mystery Quilt (final thoughts)
I finished up the quilt last night. I had one short side left to quilt, and then I was done the quilting part. I finally got rid of my futon. It clears out a decent amount of space in the spare room, and gives me a chance to try and get my studio set up in there (yay). I'm slowly working through the 5 years of accumulated crap in there (and there is a fair amount). I'm hoping that there will be room for both my benches (and to get the second bench built ( Read more... ) -

Achievement unlocked: made a quilt top
Yes, it was a kit. Cutting fabric is too tedious for me. (Anyone who has seen my jewelry can shut up now, it is all tedious cutting. Metal is less scary than fabric).
I think it turned out really well, and I'm hoping to put a 6" black cotton frame around it. Not too sure what colour for the back, but knowing me something wild.

I have this bad habit of over or underspicing everything I made. The chili I made 2 weeks ago was bland, the sweet potato soup was slightly bland (but quickly fixed with a little chili oil). I think the soup was supposed to be a little bland... It was meant more for a side dish than a full meal ( Read more... ) -

I think I'm insane... I've had a "wheel of mystery" quilt kit kicking around for ages, and I am thinking about starting it this weekend... this will likely be a huge mistake. I don't know what I'm doing, and the directions are crap ( Read more... )
