Crap.

Just accidentally sent a load of wash through the washer AND the dryer ... with a tube of chapstick. Now about half of my work clothes are grease stained.

Anyone have any stain removal advice? (It's based in hemp oil, beeswax, and the like.) I really do not want to have to replace all my stuff.

evidence of my stupidity

1. Treat with dishwashing detergent on the non-delicate fabrics.

2. Scrub like hell.

3. Use Oxyclean.

4. Scrub like hell.

Good luck, dude! Grease stains are a pain in the ass.

I've had this work for about 50% of my similar accidents. I think the success rate depends on the fabric. I use HOT water and Dawn dish soap (they use it on oil soaked birds!) full strength to help it loosen its malicious hold.

I've totally put chapstick through the wash multiple times before, and it never made a mess. I guess I'm just lucky?

I feel your pain! I once accidentally washed (and dried) a pen with an entire load of brand new, kind of expensive baby clothes. Have you ever noticed that if you *write* on clothes on purpose, it washes right out, but if it's an accident, it doesn't? I have!

I have found that Dawn dishwashing liquid works wonders on grease stains (though not so much on ink).
