I'M NOT SAYING IT WAS ALIENS... but it wasslightlyjillianOctober 1 2020, 01:30:00 UTC
Ok, so we had three people approach the Judge. And, as far as I'm concerned, we had the REAL PERSON who took the test and handed everyone the cheat sheet
( ... )

Ok, I'm honestly so. freaking. touched. That Clarke dang failed the test. And she was honestly, genuinely crushed about being alone.
BUT.
Transcendence is a choice? You can choose to come back?
Of course. Though until now, no one ever had. There won’t be offspring. And they won’t join us when they die. None of them seem to care. A curious species indeed.
The family she made chose to be with her.
Having Raven, Murphy, and Emori prefer rejoining Clarke as a regular human persons. Awesome.
Jackson and Miller. Cute.
Octavia and Levitt. Getting to just live a little, getting their wish.
Jordan and Hope.
Niylah (!)
Gaia & Indra.
Did we see Echo Ash? Pretty sure I saw her.
(I would argue that the forced infertility was probably a botched job and we still get Memori, Blake, and Green babies)
Not going to lie, my Clarke/Gaia shipper heart was happy.

As Emori was given her body back in good condition (Murphy's mind-drive togetherness inadvertently buying them both the time they needed to have their lives saved by transcendence and then rechoose coming back.) I reckon that means that Madi could have come back whole & physically restored, but chose to stay with her new friends.

I like these ships! That is very tidy and legit plausible!!

Because I OT3... and because... well, just because I OT3:
If I shove Raven with Murphy/Emori (because those two love Raven, it's just been inconvenient to get her out of her own plot and into their romance), then I kind of would dig an Echo/Octavia/Levitt thing. (unrealistic as I think Octavia is kind of a the BIGGEST LOVESTRUCK GIRL in the show and probably just wants Levitt to herself)--but I think that Echo's family status might get a re-evaluation and since Octavia looks so soft in the last scenes, Echo might be a fun add-in.
You've kind of convinced me on Indra/Niylah though... by saying "mother hens" hahahaha. I can so see that.
Ok, I will say that season seven struggled. And they clearly had to deal with whatever the reduced Bellamy thing was. That's bittersweet.
But, for me, the finale didn't ruin the show. I can comfortably rewatch canon. Clarke will always be on Earth, seeing Murphy playing with the pup and then he notices her. And Clarke gets 'we came back for you' hugs from Murphy & Raven. Fam.
I can also enjoy whatever fandom decides to do to elevate, continue or even rewrite the show.

For me the finale actually saved the season, and I think it was actually the best possible full circle/tie up possible.
Especially after watching the "It's the Fighters That Survive" video a few times today and some of the others, it's very clear that this was, more or less, where they were headed all along. Even if they didn't know this was the specific form it would take, thematically they knew exactly what they were doing, and it shows in the strength of this ending.
Admittedly i was already expecting Bell to be really dead, because i accidentally spoiled myself on that. But O. M. G.
I would have been entirely 100% on board with all of this except rhey ASSASSINATED BELLAMY BLAKE.
And yeah. I have a grudge against Clarke, because it is unfortunately entirely in character for her to kill even her "best friend" if he gets in the way of what she has decidednis best.
But the showrunners made this happen, because they could have altered the rules of transcendence, and they didn't.
So fuck them. I will embrace an AU where Bell was awarded the credit he deserved.
I remember my mouth dropping open and I thought, "Am I watching The 100?" when Murphy proposed mind-drives to Emori.
In a show that doesn't really let relationships last or even entertain permanence, that the show has an actual PROPOSAL.
So I was crushed and crying when the show started. Emori doesn't survive just to die. And yet here I am, once again, watching Murphy deliver a heartbreaking scene. And uses his outsider knowledge & mind-drive experiences to take the object of his proposal and experience the last of his life with the woman he loves.
Now it's not a survivors move.
But in a weird Murphy twist, sharing his life and his body with Emori was the sacrifice that saved them both.
If that was the ending RH wanted, then he brought it. I was really done in by how romantic and sweet it was that he'd give his life for her. They probably wouldn't have chosen who got to 'keep the body'--and I'm glad it didn't come to that. But... aw. what even. My heart is feeling things.

So while it was uncomfortable sitting through commercial breaks and being very confused by the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine wormhole finale.
Ok... I'm doing ok.

And, again, just so happy with how it all went down.

It just honestly couldn't be better. Well, I did find it a little sad that Madi didn't come back, but also not.
And here's the thing... it's ALL SO PAIR-ABLE! (Not that pairing up is necessary, but the option is nice, probably?)
We have our Hope/Jordan, which <3
We have our Jackson/Miller which is also pure <3
We have our Octavia/Levitt, and now they can build a foundation for this thing they somehow fell into...
We have our Murphy/Emori... which... oh my goodness... just... I can't... <3 <3 <3
We could go so many directions with the six women who are left. Maybe they don't pair up at all. But, here's my shot at how they could...
Clarke/Gaia... given. <3
Raven/Echo... I mean, this could happen, right? Raven works with anyone.
That leaves Indra/Niylah, which IMO is perfect because they're a little bit older than the others. They'll be sort of the mother hens. It works.

Save humanity.
And they did.
So now they can retire.

But taking her minddrive kind of ended up being the best thing he could have done to actually *save* Emori.
NICEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN IN THIS SHOW.
