I miss the hell out of what LJ was in its heyday. Right now, I'm in Good Omens fandom on Twitter - not the best way to do fandom, but not the worst.

I miss Escapade, and Sherlock Seattle (my housemate basically did that con herself with a lot less volunteer help that there should have been).

There’s an Escapade Discord that isn’t too busy or too quiet. I pop in there sometimes and it is fun!

Are you in a private DM group on Twitter? I didn’t know that was a thing 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it is useful

Yeah the larger the forum the easier it is for a channel to get sidetracked. Some people don’t mind but others do.

I wish there was a way to LINK conversations from one channel to another. Maybe there is but I don’t know it.

That way when something pops into the ‘non-con qui/obi post movie XIII with Ewoks only’ channel people could go and see what prompted the discussion in the first place. 😜

Maybe you could invite some like minded folks over to the Constrict server where things are not so, err, strict!

Yeah, there's something to be said for having separate 'rooms', but the more rooms, the lonelier each room gets.

Chat is also a problem for me because I'm in on the opposite side of the world. Most of the people I want to talk to aren't on when I'm on, or even more dangerously, Americans are waking up and being interesting just as I'm trying to go to bed. Email and lj variants allow conversations to go on over time, but chat is only for right now.

I wish I had like-minded folks to bring places. I have absolutely no idea where my fandom exists, if it even does these days. Sniff. That's why I'm looking for them.
