well i wouldn't say that it's "pretty stupid", but i don't think a lot of people understand the concept that they're not temporarily seated when it comes to my friend's seating. you didn't "take his place" because you have your own. like i said, he simply picked up his own seat and walked elsewhere with it, and you simply picked up yours and scooted closer. simple as that.
