It's amusing that the dolls they chose to rerelease were ...Puff and Papi. So many people were expecting a Luna rerelease.
Even though I still think that Luna did it better three years ago, I absolutely love love love that Lieselotte pays homage to one of the first collaboration outfits that Volks did with a popular "gothic lolita" designer label. I love her slightly open mouth and sweet expression, and I also like Charlotte's sincere and confidant expression.
If I were to buy a doll from this Dolpa, then it would be Lieselotte. Yet, I own enough girl dolls who give me similar feelings of awe and comfort. And I already have my wish list set and limited to molds that suit the characters that I want to own. If I do pick her up, then it may be an afterthought. Sometimes I'm surprised with the doll culture mentality that every doll we purchase must be cherished and kept forever. I can not say for certain that I have an instant lifelong bond with this doll, but I do know that I would like to play with her. I like this doll, and I would like to try her in different wigs and outfits.
...but that simple interest is usually a gateway for buying and keeping more dolls.
I do know that I love the new outfits that Volks has released in this Dolpa and the previous one. I can see myself buying five different outfits, and buying multiples of the same outfit so that certain dolls of mine can match each other. I would love my three Yos to wear matching panda outfits. And my two SD boys would look amazing, wearing matching outfits of the two available - modeled by Michelle and Mark.
In recent Dolpas, I have bought multiples of one or two outfits so that dolls like my "Mimi" sisters can match. I think this may be a maturation of my habits in this hobby.
But Dolpa 23 items have yet to reach this side of the pond. So let's focus on that, shall we?
