"Otsukare sama deshita."
The staff called out as the segment came to an end. the members of Hey Say Jump bowed politely in acknowledgement before making their way out of the studios. After some hurried goodbyes, everyone seems to be off somewhere, Inoo made his way to the parking lot barely minding Takaki who was walking right behind him.
"Hey, you okay?" he heard Takaki ask just as soon as he got to the passenger side of the car. Inoo wished he had driven today instead of having Takaki drive him to work.
"Hmmm" Inoo answered vaguely. Takaki gave him a look before unlocking the car. Inoo slid inside quickly before Takaki could open the door for him. He wasn't a girl anyway. Stupid Takaki for treating him like one.
The drive to his home was made in complete silence saved for the music coming from the radio. Inoo feigned sleep as soon as he put on his seatbelt. He did not want to engage in a conversation with Takaki. He just wants to get home, shower and sleep for, oh the next hundred years.
Takaki stole a look at his companion as the car stopped at a red light. Inoo had his eyes closed and his body was slightly turned away from him. yet, Takaki knew the smaller man wasn't asleep.
Tired, maybe. Heck, they all were. But he knew for a fact that Inoo rarely sleeps during car rides and he's always a bundle of energy, almost never shutting up, which was fine with Takaki. Inoo's random ideas and general chatter energises him after a long tiring day, making the drive home (to Inoo's) pleasant.
That is why Takaki slightly frowned at the other one's silence. Making a mental review of what happened earlier, the frown was replaced by a knowing smirk.
Inoo opened his eyes right before Takaki's car came to a halt near his apartment block. He quickly gathered his stuff, unbuckled his seatbelt and made to open the door even before the car came to a full stop.
But Takaki was quicker, having anticipated that Inoo would be escaping from him for whatever reason he has yet to find out. He had unbuckled his seatbelt as soon as Inoo's apartment came into view. Reaching out an arm, Takaki grabbed the door handle on the passenger side, effectively trapping Inoo in his seat.
"Mind telling me what this is all about, Kei?" Takaki turned to look at the other man, staring directly into the other's eyes, their faces as close as the limited space could afford to give them. He smiled indulgently watching Inoo's surprise at being trapped and then making his face as passive and blank as he can possibly manage.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Inoo answered in a bored tone. Damn, Takaki was too close and was looking at him intensely despite that stupid smile he wore, as if gauging Inoo's reactions. Inoo can't even look away.
Takaki raised an eyebrow at Inoo's answer. Inoo maybe an excellent liar but Takaki knew well enough how to read the subtle signs that came with Inoo's otherwise impassive countenance.
"So you were ignoring me eversince we left the studios because of, what was it again?"
"I was not ignoring you. i wouldn't be here if i were." Inoo reasoned out. Takaki's astuteness never fails to surprise Inoo every time. When did the other man learned to read him so well?
"Uh hmm. Kei, do you really want to play this game?" Takaki's voice turned a bit deeper as he moved much closer to Inoo. Their noses were almost touching and Takaki can feel the little exhales of breath from Inoo on his skin.
"S..stop it." Inoo can't help the shiver that ran down his spine. Takaki's close proximity always does that to him. "Someone might see us."
"No they won't. My windows are too dark from the outside. Kei," Takaki cupped one side of Inoo's face. "tell me what's this about, babe?" he pleads gently even though he has an idea why Inoo's acting the way he was.
Jealous Inoo was unbearably cute in Takaki's opinion and it makes him feel good that Inoo's possessive of him.
"It's nothing. I'm just," Inoo pauses to draw in a breath, "I'm just tired." he finishes softly as Takaki's caramel eyes never faltered in their focus.
"You know it was all play acting, right?" Takaki went on to say. Sometimes, Inoo can be stubborn but Takaki has learned over time not to allow the other man to keep his feelings and thoughts hidden from him.
Inoo gave a start and lightly pushed Takaki's hand away from his face.
"I'm not. No!" a little too forcefully as Inoo felt his cheeks were suffused with color. "That's not it."
Bingo. Takaki couldn't help the wide smile now adorning his features. Finally they were getting somewhere.
"What is it then? Tell me."
Inoo closed his eyes and mentally told himself to calm down. He was acting like the jealous sulking boyfriend (not girlfriend because no, he is not a girl, dammit) and they both know it.
"It's not her." deciding to come out with the truth. Inoo opened his eyes to see Takaki looking at him intently, waiting for him to continue. "It's that stupid fireworks and how we can never watch it together and how we can never kiss while watching it. and its summer and there's going to be a lot of firework festivals and.."Inoo's words were cut short as Takaki could barely hold himself back and gave his signature laugh.
He glared at the laughing man and this time pushed him away to hurriedly alight from the latter's car. Inoo was fuming as he reached his door. He had just proven that he really was such a girl. So stupid of him.
He fumbled with his keys but somehow he can't seem to get the key in the lock. A large and warm hand covered his and smoothly took the key from him to open his door. He knew that warmth and that hand.
Takaki. Only this time the other man was not laughing anymore. He wordlessly took Inoo's hand to lead him inside.
"Wait. what.. Yuya." Inoo started to protest when Takaki started ushering him inside his apartment.
Takaki gripped Inoo's hand firmly. He pulled the smaller man towards him, making Inoo stumble a bit. His arm came around to grab Inoo by the waist to prevent him from falling then he leaned in to whisper into the other man's ear.
"Tonight, you'll be seeing fireworks before i'm through with you, babe." Taking advantage of Inoo's inability to reply, Takaki gave his boyfriend a firm and passionate kiss as the apartment door slammed shut.
