Memories of a Grandfather

Yesterday was the anniver­sary of my mother’s father’s death, Donald Ackors.  Actually, as  I write this, it’s today, as I tend to write posts the day before and then sched­ule them.

What you wrote may not seem epic to you, but you conveyed beautifully just how epic a life the man himself led. Tom Brokaw had it right when he called them The Greatest Generation. Anyone who inspires such posthumous eloquence lives on in this world through the lives they touched. On this, the anniversary of your grandfather's passing, I offer my greatest condolences on a life so richly lived.
