This stemmed from me. I was watching a Let's Play of the X-Files game and I was complaining about how the actor they chose had an American accent when he was actually a recent immigrant from China. I said they should have had him fake an accent, or find a Chinese actor who still had a trace of an accent. She apparently thought they should use a white guy.
