cause in a democracy at least the minority voice has the chance to voice it's opinion and possibly persuade the majority-- all this within a hopefully non violent manner. Think of all the change brought on by minority to majority within our American history, i.e. Martin Luther King.

When dealing with groups of people there will always be a minority and majority. It's the allowance of all voices being able to be heard that matters most.

yeah you are right, its just that for every instance like the civil rights movement where the majority worked to help the minority, I can think of at least 10 other instances where the majority has used their power to isolate and oppress the minority.
